Our real estate business has been built around this guiding principle: Your needs, dreams,

The Home Selling Process

There are a lot of details to be handled when selling a home. It is our job to streamline the home sale process for you, ensuring everything is completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Your home and your needs are unique. That's why we work to make this experience as easy for you as possible by tailoring what we do specifically to you. We are here to advocate for you, support you,

and advise you in any way possible.

The home selling process

how you can prepare

In preparation for listing your home, there are a number of things we can work on with you in order to get the price you deserve. A few examples of where we come in would be...

  • Preparing for sale by conducting a comparative market analysis to establish a fair market value of your home

  • Marketing your home by entering listing information into the MLS, scheduling and holding open house tours, and more

  • Regular contact with us to discuss all marketing activities with you, discuss progress, and talk about next steps

Though this process requires a time and energy, The Morris Team is devoted to leading you to success by working with you to develop a plan that is personalized for your needs and goals.

Preparing to sell your home

how the morris team helps you succeed

We promise to sell your house at the maximum price, with the least amount of hassle. Selling a home requires experience, time and resources. These are things The Morris Team always has when it comes to helping our clients. Our goal is your satisfaction, and we are devoted to your success!

  • Experience: From pinpointing an optimal asking price to writing a purchase agreement and negotiating terms of sale, real estate transactions are a science.

  • Time: Selling a home involves hours of open houses, phone calls and paperwork that you shouldn't have to worry about. We take care of that for you.

  • Resources: Yard signs, brochure ads, direct mail and internet marketing. We work to keep your home in front of potential buyers. This requires marketing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

While selling your home might sound stressful, The Morris Team prides ourselves in our work ethic and experience. We want you to know that we care about our clients, which means taking all that we can off your plate and communicating with you every step of the way.

Q: I don’t want to pay an agent’s commission. Won’t I net more money if I sell my home alone?

A: It would appear that way. But according to statistics, the median selling price of a home sold by owner was 15.4% less than agent-assisted transactions*. That means in most cases, agents pay their own commissions, and sellers still receive more money than if they had done all the work themselves. So typically with an agent, you net more money and free yourself from all the paper, details and legalities involved throughout the process.

Q: Are there things we should do to our home to help ensure the maximum price?

A: Yes. There is a benefit to making sure your home looks its best prior to offering it for sale. There are also small remodeling jobs that will pay off at resale. Even if you choose to sell your home without assistance, I would still be happy to advise you about specific improvements that will increase your home’s marketability and value.

Q: Will you be present at all showings?

A: At open houses, I or a member of the team will be there. For showings, potential buyers will bring their own agents to see your home. Most buyers prefer that only their own agents be present when evaluating a prospective new home.

Q: What if another agent tells us they can get us more for the house?

A: Some agents will quote a higher listing price just to get your business, but an overpriced house will not sell. If you choose to work with us, we will conduct a comparative market analysis prior to recommending an asking price for your home. We will explain how we arrived at the price, but ultimately the decision is up to you. We will offer our professional opinions on how the market will value your home.
